Why vegan?

§1 Animal Protection Act states

„The purpose of this law is to protect man’s life and well-being from his responsibility for the animal as a fellow creature. „No one shall cause pain, suffering or harm to an animal without reasonable cause.“

Only sadly, that man himself wrote this law and did not spare any effort to define for his own questionable benefit what one may understand by „reasonable reason“ at all. For this reason, the Animal Protection Act formulates in various places any „If this, then yes“ exceptions – but certainly not in the sense of innocent, sentient living beings. And so the so-called farm animals live a miserable existence without any protection and without the possibility to lead a species-appropriate life. People have arranged it in such a way that it is allowed to exploit animals, to torture them and to breed them without the most important basic needs such as movement and sun alone for our enjoyment. In the name of the meat and dairy industry, our planet Earth is systematically destroyed and rendered useless for future generations. The rainforest is being cleared for our animal feed. CO2 emissions from the animal industry are 40 % and are as high as the total transport emissions put together. And instead of growing grain for the growing and often starving population, we now feed 80% of the harvest to animals that end up on our plates. The consequences for one’s own health are also serious.

„…Until every cage is empty. Until every animal is free.“
